« Fountain” and “Luigi” have been selected for « Open water »

Jennifer Schwartz has chosen 2 of my photos for the the contest conducted by  The Kernian Gallery (Lexington, United States) on « Open water ».

Here what it was expected from the photos :

Water has a long history as subject matter for artists. It is revered for its beauty as well as respected and feared for its unpredictable nature. Water carves our landscapes, making rivers and streams. It provides sustenance, recreation, and transport. Whether contained in swimming pools, bathtubs, or fountains, or freely flowing waterfalls, currents, and tides, The Kiernan Gallery seeks images of literal and metaphoric interpretations for Open Water.

Here are my selected photos

Juror’s Statement:

Water inspires. Water symbolizes life and mystery, hope and truth – maybe even magic. It can be willful or calm. Whether in awe of its power and strength or overwhelmed by a vast expanse of still beauty, open water draws artists of all mediums to create. In the exhibition Open Water, my aim was to select images that have a depth of feeling and power – whether bold or subtle. The theme allowed a wide variety of imagery, but the inspiration felt unified. Thank you to the Kiernan Gallery for allowing me the opportunity to be moved.
